Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

The American Society for Quality defines the duties of a Black Belt as a professional who can explain Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools. A Black Belt should demonstrate team leadership, understand team dynamics and assign team member roles and responsibilities. They have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the DMAIC model in accordance with Six Sigma principles, and knowledge of Lean enterprise concepts to identify non-value-added elements and activities, and are able to use specific Lean tools.

This program’s classroom curriculum will examine the deeper Black Belt dive into DMAIC concepts. Master Black Belts will be available alternating weeks for coaching and mentoring of your real-world project (students will supply project).

To achieve a JCCC Lean Six Sigma Black Belt designation, students must complete classroom curriculum, participate in a real-world project, and achieve a minimum 80% exam score. All curriculum materials are included, and the comprehensive final exam is provided online.

Prerequisite is an earned JCCC Green Belt certificate, or a minimum 80% score on a no-cost comprehensive entrance assessment. Call 913-469-2386 or email LeadershipEd@jccc.edu to schedule assessment.
